In terms of revenue and studio size, Disney is the largest in its class. The company was founded October 16, 1923 by brothers Walt and Roy Disney and later was reincorporated as Walt Disney Productions in 1929. Since then it has led the industry in animation and later diversified into live-action television and film production. While children continue to be entertained by the emergence of new shows and characters, many of the classics, such as "The Little Mermaid", "Bambi", "Aladdin" and "Sleeping Beauty" remain household names.
